Michigan public school students in grades 3–7 take the M-STEP in English language arts and math, with science and social studies tested in selected grades. Eighth and ninth graders take the PSAT 8/9, tenth graders take the PSAT 10, and eleventh graders take the Michigan Merit Examination, which includes the SAT. Ask a tutor how sessions line up with your child's school curriculum and recent score reports.

Many colleges also accept the ACT, and several providers listed here, including College Choice Counseling, The Tutoring Center and Tutor Doctor, offer prep for both.
